In high-performance automotive applications, conventional oil catch cans are used to capture blow-by oil ejected from the crankcase ventilation system. However, standard catch cans rely on a passive reservoir architecture that introduces several inefficiencies, primarily requiring manual draining and resulting in net fluid loss over time.

The CCV Overflow Retention Block optimizes this process by integrating multi-stage fluid management. The system actively coalesces and filters oil vapors before they can enter the intake tract, mitigating carbon buildup on intake valves. Instead of functioning as a static storage reservoir, the retention block features a passive drain mechanism: once engine cooldown occurs, the captured oil automatically returns to the crankcase via the CCV line. This closed-loop configuration maintains optimal oil levels and eliminates the maintenance overhead associated with manual reservoir servicing.
